Dear Members and Friends of Grace,

 

Hello from the Pastor’s study! Please note the following information:

 

            Saturday, May 28th:

 

-         The Women’s Bible study will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Johnsons’ house this Saturday. Please contact Marilyn Doerfel (364-0830) or Robyn Johnson (321-6151) for more information.

 

This coming Lord’s Day, May 29th:

 

-         The adult Sunday School class will continue its study of “A Call to Spiritual Reformation – Priorities from Paul and His Prayers”, by D. A. Carson. We will consider Paul’s prayer for the Philippian church recorded in Philippians 1:9-11.

 

-         I will preach on Colossians 1:15-23 during the morning service. The message will be, “The Image of God.”

 

-         Instead of our regular evening service, we will be hosting a joint hymn sing at Grace. The service will begin at 6:00 p.m., and will be followed by a salad dinner.

Young People’s Camp:

 

-         The 2005 Presbytery of the Southwest (PSW) Young People’s Camp will be held July 23rd – July 29th in Amarillo, Texas. The camp’s theme is “Covenant Scene Investigation”, and is for students going into the 6th – 12th grades. Last year we had several people from Grace attend, both as campers and counselors. I hope that we can send another good-sized contingent this year, as well. There is information and registration forms available at the church. NOTE: The registration deadline is July 8th.

 

-         If you would like more information on this camp, contact me or Betty Brack at betbrack@amaonline.com, or 806-433-5415.

 

Opportunities for service:

 

-         Grace Presbyterian will again be involved with the annual Oklahoma City Conference on Reformed Theology. The conference dates are Sept. 30th and Oct. 1st, and the speaker is Dr. Michael Horton of Westminster Seminary in California. You may have heard his radio program, “The White Horse Inn”, or be familiar with the magazine he edits, “Modern Reformation” (Dr. Horton also happens to be Faithann Basore’s uncle). Volunteers are needed to help with registration, ushering, and other types of service. Please call me if you would like to help in any way with the planning and running of the conference. Dear Members and Friends of Grace,

 

Greetings in the matchless name of Jesus Christ! Please note the following information:

 

            Saturday, May 21st:

 

-         The session will meet at the church building at 1:00 p.m. Please contact me know if you have any matters to bring before the session.

 

This coming Lord’s Day, May 22nd:

 

-         The adult Sunday School class will continue studying D.A. Carson’s book on prayer, “A Call to Spiritual Reformation – Priorities from Paul and His Prayers”. In this week’s study, we will identify several reasons why Christians often do not pray as faithfully as they ought to, and seek Biblical guidance on how to understand and overcome these problems.

 

-         I will preach on Colossians 1:9-14 during the morning service. This passage records the content of Paul’s prayer for the Colossian church. The message will be, “Paul’s Pastoral Prayer.”

 

-         The evening service begins at 6:00 p.m. Last week, I began a short series of messages on Psalm 139. I will continue to speak on this magnificent Psalm this week by focusing on verses 7-12.

 

Saturday, May 28th.

 

-         The Women’s Bible Study will meet at the Johnsons’ house in the morning. For more information, please contact Marilyn Doerfel (364-0830) or Robyn Johnson (321-6151).

 

Sunday, May 29th:

 

-         Grace will host the joint hymn sing in which participate with other area churches each time there is a fifth Sunday in a month. The service will begin at 6:00 p.m.

 

Stamps for Missions:

 

-         The Foreign Missions Committee is accepting cancelled stamps in order to raise funds for the purchase of Bibles and Reformed literature for the people of Haiti. Instructions on what stamps to save, how to prepare them, and where to send them, are available on the table in the narthex of the church.

            Saturday, May 14th:

 

-         The Men’s prayer breakfast will meet at the church at 8:00 a.m. Please contact me (321-6151) for more information.

 

This coming Lord’s Day, May 15th:

 

-         The adult Sunday School class will resume studying D.A. Carson’s book on prayer, “A Call to Spiritual Reformation – Priorities from Paul and His Prayers”.

 

-         During the morning service, I will begin a new sermon series on the Paul’s letter to the Colossians. Sunday morning’s sermon will be on Colossians 1:1-8.

 

-         All are invited for a soup luncheon at the Johnsons’ house immediately following the morning service. Please call Robyn (321-6151) or me for more information.

 

-         The evening service begins at 6:00 p.m. I will give a devotional message on Psalm 139.

 

Tuesday, May 17th:

 

-         The new member’s class will meet at 7:00 at the Johnsons’ house.
