OKC Conference on Reformed Theology 2005 with Michael S. Horton

Dear Christian friends,

Greetings in the matchless name of Jesus Christ! We enjoyed your participation in last year's OKC Conference on Reformed Theology, and we trust that the conference proved to be both instructive and edifying. It is always refreshing to meet with other like-minded believers and hear solid Biblical and Reformed teaching.

If you have not already heard, I am pleased to inform you about this year's OKC Conference on Reformed Theology. The speaker will be Dr. Michael Horton, a professor of apologetics and theology at Westminster Seminary in California, editor of Modern Reformation magazine, and host of the radio program, The White Horse Inn. We are eagerly looking forward to Dr. Horton's teaching and to the fellowship among the conference attendees.

The dates of the conference are September 30th and October 1st. Like last year, registration is free and you may register online, by phone, or in person at the conference. For more information, go to http://www.reformokc.com . You may also call me at (405) 321-5220.

I look forward to seeing you again at this year's conference! In the meantime, may the Lord bless you richly as you serve our glorious Savior Jesus Christ.

In Christ,
Scott Johnson

Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!

(Psalm 144:15)

Dear Members and Friends of Grace,

Greetings! We are indeed blessed to have the Lord Jesus Christ as our God and Savior! I hope you are finding your joy and strength in him this day.

Please note the following information:

-         The morning sermon will be from Colossians 3:22-4:1. We will observe the Lord’s Supper at the morning service, as well as receive our monthly diaconal offering.

-         At the evening service, I will speak on kindness as a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Baseball night, August 16th:

-         We are planning a group outing to watch an Oklahoma Redhawks baseball game. The date is set for Tuesday, August 16th.

OU outreach, August 19th:

-         We will have an opportunity for outreach to the University of Oklahoma community on Friday, August 19th. The event is called Norman Sooner Kickoff, and we will have a table set up with Reformed literature and church information to hand out to the incoming freshmen class. We will also distribute to the students bookmarks with information about Grace Presbyterian. When we did this last year, it proved to be a very good opportunity to meet many people new to the area and invite them to our services. Let me know if you would like to participate in this outreach.

Presbytery meeting in Norman, Sept. 15th – 17th:

-         Grace is hosting next month’s presbytery meeting, to be held here in Norman from Thursday, Sept. 15th to Saturday, Sept. 17th. The meetings will take place at the Super 8 Motel in Norman (on Main St., just east of I-35) on Thursday and Friday and at the church building on Saturday (if presbytery extends until then). We can expect about 30 – 35 people coming into town for the meetings. As the hosting church, our primary responsibility will be to provide meals for the presbyters (elders) and others who will be present. In addition, we may need to provide some rides to and from the airport and take care of other various tasks that are involved with hosting a presbytery meeting. Please let me know if you will be able to help in any way.

Dear Members and Friends of Grace,

Hello from the Pastor’s study! Thank you for your prayers last week for Robyn, Sander, and myself as we traveled to and from Alaska where I spoke at an OPC Family Camp. -         At the evening service, I will speak on patience as a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Baseball night, August 16th:

-         We are planning a group outing to watch an Oklahoma Redhawks baseball game. The date is set for Tuesday, August 16th.
