Dear Members and Friends of Grace,
Greetings in Christ’s name! Please
note the following information:
Wednesday, October 19th:
-
The
first meeting of the Men’s Breakfast
Bible Study will take place this morning from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
at Denny’s in Norman (just
northeast of the Main St./I-35 intersection). We will begin a study of Romans, discussing its theology and
application to our faith and life. All men are invited. If you would like to
participate, or if you know of someone who would interested in joining us,
please let me know.

The Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting will meet
at 7:00 p.m. at the
Johnsons’ house. Please contact me with any matters for thanksgiving or
prayer.
-
After
the prayer meeting, there will be an Envelope
Stuffing Party at the Johnsons’. We are preparing to send out
about 750 letters to area
residents introducing them to Grace Presbyterian Church and the OPC, and
inviting them to visit our services. If you are able, plan to stay after the
prayer meeting and help prepare these mailing pieces with us. There will be ice-cream for all the helpers. And, as we
work, we will be cheering on the St. Louis
Cardinals as they play the Houston
Astros in game 6 of the NL playoffs.
Saturday, October 22nd:

The session will meet at the church building at
9:00 a.m. If you have any matters to bring before the session, please let me
know.
This coming Lord’s Day, October 23rd:
-
The
adult Sunday School class will
continue its study of the “The
Christian Life” by Sinclair Ferguson. Our topic this week is “Crucifying Sin”.
-
The morning sermon will be on Genesis 2:1-3.
-
At the evening service, we will watch and discuss
an R.C. Sproul teaching video on
the book of Ecclesiastes.
Sunday, October 30th:
-
As the Johnson family will be on vacation from October 24th – 30th,
-
Instead
of our usual evening service at Grace, we will meet with several area churches
for a joint hymn sing. The hymn
sing will take place at Northwest Bible
Church in
Friday, November 11th:
-
There
will be a special ordination and installation
service for the new pastor of Knox
OPC, Mr. Adam Ostella.
The service will be at
Outreach:
-
There
are 550 door hangers ready to
distribute in a Norman neighborhood. These door hangers contain a brief message
from the Pastor, our tri-fold flyer with information about the church, and one
of our bookmarks. If you would like to get some exercise and help with distributing these door hangers,
let me know.
Hurricane Relief:
-
The OPC
has been actively working to help those who have suffered from the damage done
by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. This includes sending teams of volunteers to
the Gulf region to help with clean-up and to help rebuild damaged property. To

Dear Members and Friends of Grace,
Greetings in the name of the One to whom
all praise is due – our Savior Jesus Christ! I trust you are finding his
grace sufficient this day to meet the challenges and struggles you face as you seek
to walk faithfully with our Lord.
Please note the following information:
Saturday, October 8th:

The Men’s prayer breakfast will meet at
the church building at 8:00 a.m.

The Women’s Bible study will meet at our house
this Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Contact
This coming Lord’s Day, October 9th:

The
adult Sunday School class will
continue its study of the “The
Christian Life” by Sinclair Ferguson. Our topic this week is “The Christian’s Conflicts.”

The morning sermon will be on Genesis 1:3-25. We will observe the Lord’s Supper at the morning service,
as well as receive our monthly diaconal
offering.

At the evening service, we will watch and discuss
an R.C. Sproul teaching video on
the book of Ecclesiastes.
